Merlin ERD receive their second Queen’s Award for Enterprise – the pinnacle of UK business success.
This coveted accolade from HM The Queen is presented for the highest level of excellence and recognition of outstanding performance in the International Trade sector. What a superb achievement for Perth based Merlin ERD team to receive this award for the second time!
The Queen’s representative, Brigadier Melville Jameson, CBE, The Lord Lieutenant of Perth and Kinross presented the award at a civic ceremony hosted by Liz Grant, The Provost of Perth and Kinross. The reception was attended by Major Dumphie who highlighted the achievement along with several parliamentarians and 50 guests at Merlin’s Cherrybank Headquarters on Friday 9th September 2016.
This second Queen’s Award for International Trade recognises the company’s impressive growth with a doubling of turnover and increasing personnel numbers over the last three years. Industry subject matter experts in Horizontal and Extended Reach Drilling, Merlin frequently make marginal fields economic and produce hydrocarbons with wells others deemed impossible. Delivering the most challenging wells in the world, with projects in 34 countries, this accolade is well deserved.

Provost Grant said: “It gave me great pleasure to host the ceremony recognising the continued excellent performance of this locally based, globally focussed company. My warmest congratulations go to Iain and Merlin ERD for their ongoing success and growth.”
