Merlin was delighted to make a £1,000 donation to Perth High School for their school physics trip to CERN in Geneva.<\/p>\n

CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire) or European Council for Nuclear Research, was founded in 1952 with the mandate of establishing a world-class fundamental physics research organisation in Europe . It is the world’s largest particle physics laboratory, where international scientists conduct research on the origins of the universe and subatomic particles. It is also the home of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the most powerful particle accelerator in the world. Exciting stuff!<\/p>\n

The school trip for 16 pupils will take place from the 31st of May to the 3rd of June this year and will enable the pupils to witness first-hand how science is conducted on a global scale, and will undoubtedly provide them with valuable experience and knowledge to carry forward into their higher studies.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Supporting STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education is crucial in inspiring and encouraging young people to consider pursuing their studies in science and engineering fields. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Merlin Managing Director, Ron Ramage concluded by saying “Having previously provided sponsorship for a Perth High School trip to NASA, we are delighted to have this opportunity to support the school with this trip to CERN. We all understand importance of investing in young people and their futures, and this trip aligns with our ambitions of promoting innovation and technology.
