Merlin partner with Maersk in immersive training simulation

Merlin ERD has partnered with Maersk Training to create a new take on the typical training experience. Using Maersk Training’s simulators and experienced simulator instructors, this immersive course is a combination of classroom theory and practical simulation focused on the complexities of high angle drilling. The simulator is set up with client well data and gives the operations team a chance to experience first-hand some of the challenges encountered when drilling and tripping through high angle.
Learning is focused firstly on how to recognise and avoid problems; delegates are then given the opportunity, in the simulator, to learn and build the muscle memory of what to do when things go wrong. This is the 3rd of 4 sessions held for our client prior to the start of their complex well drilling campaign in the UKNS. Feedback from delegates (and instructors) has been universally positive. Everyone loves the combination of theory and the practice and the opportunity to fail in a safe environment. 😊  The course is also proving to be very popular with more sessions planned throughout 2020.
