Lanzamiento de la campaña
During a project in Colombia last year, one of our Engineers, Santiago Lopez, was introduced to ‘Real Cayumba’, a children’s’ football team from a small town called Puerto Wilches. Santi noticed many of the children were playing football in their bare feet and that they had no football strips. The strips were easy – Merlin worked with the team to design a unique football strip, locally produced, that reflected the team’s values and children’s personalities. The children loved them.
The boots were a bit more of a challenge, but after Santi notified the Merlin team in the UK, we quickly got to work setting up the campaign we named, ‘Boots for Colombia’.
En noviembre de 2021, con la ayuda de las comunidades locales de Perth y Crieff, Merlin recolectó con éxito más de 30 pares de botas y logró que cada jugador del Real Cayumba recibiera un par justo antes de Navidad.

Merlin has always taken pride in being located in Perth – though officially classed as a city, and with a modest population of just 48,000, the community spirit can be found in abundance.

Una Navidad para recordar
Como se mencionó anteriormente, Merlin había trabajado previamente con el equipo en octubre de 2021 para diseñar y suministrar una camiseta de fútbol única.
Luego, en diciembre de 2021, solo unos días antes de Navidad, el proyecto estaba completo. Las botas pulidas llegaron sin problemas y los niños del Real Cayumba se pueden ver en la foto de arriba, luciendo con orgullo sus nuevas botas y tiras de fútbol.
All that’s left for them to do now is enjoy playing football!
