Drilling operations come in all shapes and sizes but the fundamental processes are the same, regardless of whether you are drilling for heat or hydrocarbons. Merlin’s public open seat training courses (classroom or online) have taught hundreds of delegates the fundamental success factors related to the well construction process, with a focus on deviated and high angle wells. It is also true that the factors that make these complex wells successful translate equally well to vertical, shallow or low angle wells when we talk about proactively managing hole conditions, how to write SMART drilling instructions, specifying drilling fluid properties, or size a drilling team.
