Athletes are on track for success with new kit sponsorship

The athletes, based in Perth, Scotland, were pleased to receive sharp new kit from local business Merlin, last week. Head coach, Alan Erickson said: “The group are delighted with the kit, the recognition and the support from Merlin. Preparation for the 2023 season is now underway, and the athletes are focussed on putting the hard work in to achieve their own personal goals. The support offered from Merlin is fantastic and we are excited to see where this leads”.

“The group is really driven to be the best they can be – training hard to keep shaving off the 10ths of seconds necessary to drive their performance forward”.

Merlin – a world-class drilling engineering consultancy – were impressed with the drive, passion and focus of the group, and its coach Alan Erickson. And so, falling in nicely with the employee-owned company’s community engagement plans, the decision to provide sponsorship was an easy one.

Merlin managing director, Ron Ramage, said: “Over the last few months we have agreed a kit-list and some branding options for Alan’s squad – around 13 athletes, mostly in their teens, some of whom compete at local and national level. The branded kit for all squad members has been passed across recently and we hear they are delighted with it, and the new Sprint Squad logo we created for them.

“The group is really driven to be the best they can be – training hard to keep shaving off the 10ths of seconds necessary to drive their performance forward. Their ethos aligns well with our business as industry leading drilling engineers. The Merlin team is hoping to get to know the athletes and coaches as time goes on, follow their progression, and further help them to achieve their goals in any way we can.”
